Well its amazing what happens when you start something I originally put my posting up to warn others about my experience with Evans Halshaw Vauxhall in Nottingham and so far have warned thousands of people judging by the page views and responses; however this story seems to mirror my experiences perfectly and I’m sure we can all be grateful we haven’t lost our holiday like Martin below…The following is from the email he sent me without edit or amendment…

Please can you up date this on your website – bad experience with this dealer…

15 months ago we purschased a Seven Seater Zafira from Evans Halshaw Clifton Bouelvard Nottingham.
Within 12 weeks of having the car, it broke down and had serious problems. We therefore took it back to the dealer and explained there was something wrong with it, they were quick to deny they had sold the car to us so we decided to go home and collect all our paperwork regarding payment of the vehicle to prove to them what idiots they are.
After all this they deicded to put the car into the garage to find the fault, after 3 days they rang us to tell us that the diesel pump and injecters wanted replacing with the total cost of £1800 which they asked us to pay.
After a lot of arguments and threats to report them to trading standards and to the Nottingham evening post to name and shame them, they soon changed their tune. Since then the car has never ran right.
Today the car went in to Limp mode so yet again we took it back after explaining to the salesman we have yet another problem with the car and we’re not happy with the perfomance and reliabilty of this car, we informed the salesman that we are going on holiday tomorrow and needed the car, and again the car went into the garage to be inspected, within half an hour they had found a major electrical fault, the salesman told us that the car needed to be in the garage 2-3 days to carry out repairs, we explained to the salesman that myself and family are going on holiday the following day… He told us it was not his problem, we explained to him that we would like another 7 seater courtesy car which he told us that he does not have nor will he provide one.
When we purchased this car we thought we was buying from a reliable dealer – Unfortuanatly we were proved wrong…

Just recently i took this car for an MOT ,whilest in the mot station a man came up to me shaking his head and asked me “Is this your car?”.. i replied that it was and this man informed me that he had purchased this car from Evans Halshaw , Clifton Bouelvard Nottingham, he informed me he took this vehicle back to Evans Halshaw and demanded a replacement  as the car kept going into Limp mode.
Which Evans Halwshaw replaced it for another Vauxhall Zafira, it now seems to me that this car was sold to us by Evans Halwshaw and that they knew that this car had faults, also the previous owner had informed me that he went to Trading Standards about this car which we now know is on file.

To all the people who are thinking of buying a car from Evan Halshaw my advice to you is to Think Again!

At this point I’d like to offer Evans Halshaw another opportunity to respond or see their customers right. If they do so I’ll happily report what they do to rectify the situation….I’m not holding out much hope. 07590025727.

If youve had similar problems with Evans Halshaw let me know and I can put your story on this page.

Evans Halshaw Vauxhall at Clifton Boulevard - Don’t buy a car from these guys!!
A couple of Months ago my girlfriend, at that point a single mum with a toddler, bought a Citroen Xsara from these guys. She was very pleased with her purchase it looked nice an clean and shiny it was 4 doors and a 1.4 litres – perfect for her needs. We did notice a banging from the exhaust and when the nice salesman looked the heat shield was loose and damaged – not to worry madam that will be fixed when you collect it – he said!

Come the big day she went to collect it and he kindly informed her that the part hadn’t arrived but not to worry as soon as it did he’d call. He still hasn’t called – we set about calling them. It’ll be a couple of weeks to get the part was the standard answer……..

In the meantime the car broke down, with herself and toddler in it , it was still within the warranty so they asked her to take it to a Citroen garage in Nottingham. This was done and the problem was diagnosed, at this point they refused to let the work go ahead saying it was too expensive and to take it to a Citroen garage in another town to have the work done..her and toddler in broken car to drive to entirely different town….hmmm

Luckily Citroen decided that this was outrageous and actually caring about repeat business they did it for free. Excellent work Citroen.

In the meantime still no heat shield. Having grown tired of ringing and the problem not being desperate the issue drifted on for about a month. Then she called them again. This time and this is the most stunning bit. They claimed not to have any record of the issue or the person who sold the car and after some time told my girlfriend…”go away we don’t care about you or your car”..which of course is about the only true thing in the whole process…..so there you go Evans Halshaw Nottingham have a new strapline

Here at Nottingham Vauxhall we don’t care about you or your car !!

Excellent if Nottingham Vauxhall would like to do something about this..feel free to call me on 07590025727..I will certainly update this to reflect any improvements.
